The Köpchenwerk is located on the north bank of the Hengsteysee, the path is quite suitable as a connection between Herdecke and the ascent on the Hohensyburg. There are beer gardens on both sides of the Köpchenwerk and the bike path at the Köpchenwerk is very narrow: it is difficult to drive fast on the central part. To the east the path becomes wider again, to the west as well, but you have to watch out for the rails in the middle of the road.
