The Schlingenbach is a 6.2 km long tributary of the Agger in Overath and partly in Engelskirchen. The source of the Schlingenbach is on the north-east flank of the Kleiner Heckberg at an altitude of 323 m. From the source, the brook flows primarily in a westerly direction, changing direction several times in order to flow around the surrounding mountains. On the right and left side, the Schlingenbach takes in the smaller streams flowing from these heights. Without touching any villages on its way, the stream flows into the Agger opposite Vilkerath at a height of 108 m.
