The main milestone in Ludwigslust was set in 1829 during the construction of the road from Hamburg to Berlin, the course of which largely corresponds to the corresponding section of today's federal highway 5. The granite obelisk on the corner of Grabower Allee and Techentiner Straße is a protected monument and the highest and oldest milestone in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
