The section of the Kloster-Fahr-Weg presented here on the right bank of the Limmat shines with tranquil views of the rather wild river with various rock formations in the river bed, a partly exciting embankment with e.g. enormous blackberry hedges, and industrial buildings serving as a counterpoint on the opposite pole Riverbank. And all this away from the road and therefore quite quiet. A great piece of hiking trail in the Zurich city area!

Just get out of the city, on this beautiful hiking trail you can take a leisurely stroll from the urban city of Zurich to Werdinsel and to Kloster Fahr, the
Benectine monastery near Unterengstringen, easy.
Or you can also hike back on the other side of the Limmat, from Hardeggsteg it is around 15 kilometers there and back.
