Tommy is an English soldier who ended up in Terlanen during WWII. His statue was made by... German soldiers! They were prisoners of war in the upper camp in Terlanen, where you now find Kamp Kwadraat. No less than 60,000 German soldiers were imprisoned here!

Hiking
fifteen Commonwealth war graves of which only six were
attribution. These war victims fell in the May days of 1940
when it was still thought to protect Brussels with the help of the English and French
and stop the Germans along the 'Iron Wall', a line of defense that ran
from Koningslo to Wavre.
Unfortunately, they lost their lives and will rest here forever in the shadow of Saint Michael.
