Hiking
The area includes extensive reed and sedge stocks, wet meadows and areas used as hay meadows. These form a habitat for endangered animals and plants. Cotton grass, broad-leaved orchid, clinging pink and brook avens grow here as plant species on the Red List. Common snipe, corn bunting, whinchat, meadow pipit and yellow wagtail breed. Even the kingfisher has been sighted in Great Hörmes.
