Pentre Ifan is a burial chamber that would originally have been covered with an earthen mound. The giant capstone appears to be precariously balanced on three uprights, but it's fairly solid as it has remained in place for around 5,000 years so far.

Pentre Ifan frames the Preseli Hills, source of Pembrokeshire bluestones that made parts of Stonehenge as well.

There are a couple of racks to stand and secure your bike too in the lay-by car park by the monument entrance.
