The park was donated to the inhabitants of Groningen in 1913 by Jan Evert Scholten, one of the richest Dutch people at the time. He wanted the park to be the place where everyone could go for sports, fun and relaxation. We are now more than a hundred years later and everyone can still come here for a wonderful afternoon. visitgroningen.nl
