The castle is said to have been rebuilt in 1666, while Louis Emmanuel Rockolfing, who was the last lord of Nazareth, had it rebuilt and enlarged in 1771-1772 according to a design by Jan Baptist Simoens. In 1860 it became the property of the Kervyn de Volkaersbeke family.
