This work of art represents a stylized bridge with an entrance gate that undulates like water. It symbolizes the connection between Burcht-Zwijndrecht and the Scheldt. Both banks are connected, as was the case in the past, by boats and now by tunnels. Ironically, the bridge looks like a tongue sticking out towards the city of Antwerp, which often thinks it is bigger than it is. The work is made of corten steel, steel that only rusts in the top layer, but is otherwise very weatherproof.
