via the Jubilämsweg from the direction of Schrecksee, it is only 230 meters in altitude from the lowest point to the ridge. But it's always steep uphill and seems like you'll never get to the top.
Exactly on the ridge between Rauhorn and Gaishorn, the view is magnificent.

Hiking
From the Schrecksee we circled the Rauhorn on the Austrian side and then came up the path to the Vordere Schafswanne, 2060m high. The path is easy to walk. Once you're at the top, take some time and enjoy the view. You can look up the Iller to Immenstadt and much further. In the other direction you can see the Vilsalpsee and even the Zugspitze massif in the background.
