The work of art created by Bärbel Dieckmann shows what is probably the best-known scene from the life of St. Martin, the patron saint of Olpe: the encounter with a beggar and the parting of the cloak. When asked what the bronze sculpture represents, the artist replied: A mercy that goes beyond the church and the city.
