The remains of the walls and a tower foundation from the original structure mentioned in 1344 are still preserved. In the Middle Ages there was a castle in Duttenberg, which was inhabited by the Lords of Weinsberg in the 14th century. Then the castle came to the lords of Wittlingen from Hagenbach. In 1460 a city wall was built by Hans von Sickingen. The fortifications of the castle were later removed and a castle-like manor house with outbuildings was built in place of the castle. The local wine press, which was bought by the Teutonic Order in 1599, also belongs to this complex.
