The most spectacular crossing of the Alps: The Bernina Express from Chur / Landquart / Davos / St. Moritz - Valposchiavo - Tirano connects language regions and cultures - in a serpentine manner and without a cogwheel. The panoramic trips through the UNESCO World Heritage RhB are a real treat.Up to the glittering glaciers of the mountains, deep down into the palm tree paradise of Italy: The Bernina Express, the highest railway line over the Alps, connects northern Europe with the south, building bridges between language regions and cultures. The railway line blends in harmoniously with the mountains of Albula and Bernina. The Bernina Express masters 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and gradients of up to 70 per thousand with ease. The roof of the RhB, the Ospizio Bernina, sits enthroned at 2,253 meters above sea level. Here enjoyment of nature and cultural experience become one, here they become the most beautiful experience in the Alps. The route from Thusis - Valposchiavo - Tirano is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a trademark of the Rhaetian Railway. Thanks to the modern Bernina Express panorama car, you can enjoy an unrestricted view of the pristine alpine panorama.

The Bernina Express travels through the breathtaking glacier world of the Bernina massif between St. Moritz (CH) and Tirana (IT). The difference in height that the train makes on its journey lies between the two stations at approx. 2,000 vertical meters. In clear weather an unforgettable experience.

I have already traveled many rail routes in Switzerland. In my opinion, the most beautiful is the Bernina Railway. Not only is the train ride beautiful, but also walking along the route. A wonderful landscape.

Great place and starting point for a short hike to the Morteratsch Glacier. And super easy to get to by train
