    Neugersdorf water tower
The Neugersdorf water tower on the Hutungsberg is shown.
It was built between 1927 and 1929 to supply the city with water. The expressionist design, reminiscent of pagoda architecture, is the work of the Zwickau architect Walter Goebel, who was responsible for the tower's design. The local concrete and reinforced concrete construction company I. W. Roth A.G. carried out the construction work. The tank floor contains two cylindrical reinforced concrete water tanks with a total capacity of 200 m³. The tower also has a viewing area.

      Year of construction: 1928
In an expressionistic design, reminiscent of pagoda architecture, of importance in terms of the history of technology and construction. The water tower on the Hutungsberg in a prominent position in the landscape was built in 1927-29 to supply water to the town of Neugersdorf. The local, renowned concrete and reinforced concrete construction company I. W. Roth A.G. entrusted. Above a smooth base, the square tower impresses with its expressively folded facade design, which is an early example of a reinforced concrete construction that was shuttered and reinforced in sections. A spray plaster is also applied externally. Two steel frame windows on each side of the three tower floors provide an additional rhythm to the façade. The tank floor contains two cylindrical reinforced concrete water tanks with a total capacity of 200 m³. It is set slightly inwards over a cornice that accentuates the profile of the fold. Above this, a floor illuminated by horizontal rectangular windows marks the viewing level of the tower. The upper end is formed by a pagoda-like overhanging roof, the mezzanine of which is accentuated with triangular windows. The water tower was completely renovated in 2000 and, together with the underground tank at the foot of the tower, is still included in the municipal water supply today. Due to its expressive design language and the innovative design, it is of high technical and architectural value.
