The church in Bülow was built in the first half of the 13th century (1236). After the Second World War, it was increasingly in a deplorable condition.
It was last renovated in 1894. Information about this was found in the ball of the tower's helm post when the roof of the tower was re-covered in 1989.

It was not until 1999 that plans could be started to completely reconstruct the church.
The restoration of the church took four years. Thanks to a donation from the former von Barner family, who were very active in preserving the church, the organ was also restored. To the great joy of the whole village, the ceremonial re-opening took place.
