About a quarter of an hour's walk from Deuna's outskirts in the direction of Rüdigershagen you will come across a babbling brook at the foot of the Dün, which is lined by a station path. The stream finds its source at the roots of a more than 350-year-old small-leaved lime tree at the foot of the Dünkreuz, which was built from shell limestone in 1935.
The summer linden has an impressive circumference of at least six meters.
The former Duderstadt rector and first chairman of the local history association in Untereichsfeld, founded in 1906, Karl Wüstefeld, reported in his "Obereichsfelder Sagenschatz" published in 1920 that a monastery is said to have stood nearby and that a chasuble was buried next to the spring, from which every year a thread falls apart.
If the chasuble finally dissolved, the Eichsfeld boiler villages of Deuna, Rüdigershagen and Niederorschel would drown in the floods.
