The Hofgarten Kempten is located north of the residence and is a baroque palace garden. Once laid out as a kitchen garden to supply the monastery, the Hofgarten is now a popular meeting place and idyllic place to relax in the heart of the city.
Due to its central location in the city center, the Hofgarten is an ideal meeting place for locals and a place to relax for guests. Only a few meters away from the pedestrian zone, you can enjoy a break in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle. Families have picnics, friends meet for sundowners, students to study and social media affine for a selfie in a perfect setting. In summer, the Kemptener Hofgarten with its large lawns is also popular for sporting activities. So don't be surprised if you meet a group of athletes and a trainer in lederhosen or if the yoga mats are rolled out.

The Hofgarten is a pretty, well-kept park behind the residence. On the courtyard garden lawn, many enjoy the sun on a blanket or on one of the many benches.
It is a baroque palace garden located north of the princely residence. The park consists of terraces of different heights, which in turn have different sized areas. The courtyard garden is 3.4 hectares in total.
The orangery is a late baroque building built in 1780 as the northern end of the courtyard garden with classicist forms. The city library has been located in the listed building since 1963.
