It is still strategically located and sits enthroned on a ridge above Idstein and Dasbach - with a correspondingly good view of the country.
There are also rest areas with tables and benches - and conveniently, several cycling and hiking trails cross here, so that the tower can be built into many tours.
The only downer: the busy and fast-traveled country road to Niedernhausen is not entirely safe to cross!

The tower south of Idstein is said to be the best reconstructed guard post on the former Limes.
At the same time, it was strategically very favorable then as now. You can very well incorporate a detour into various mountain bike tours - and enjoy both the view and the atmosphere on the mountain range at one of the seating and rest areas.
