Cycling
The first Finow Canal was built between 1605 and 1620 and was the first artificial connection between the two German river basins of the Havel and the Oder. As a result of the Thirty Years' War, the canal was almost completely neglected and the individual sections of the canal fell into disrepair. The Finow Canal was forgotten. From 1743 the canal was restored by decree of Frederick II.
