From Kreuzthal towards Buchenberg, the climb starts off gently! It gets progressively steeper until you reach the highest point at Eschacher Weiher... and finally, there are two switchbacks through the Buchenberg Forest. From there at Eschacher Weiher, you can enjoy a fantastic downhill ride through Buchenberg all the way to Kempten! It's 9 km and 320 m of elevation loss to the city limits (Rotkreuz). :-)

In the opposite direction, from Eschacher Weiher to Kreuzthal, it's great for drafting. After the two switchbacks, the route to Kreuzthal, or further on to Schmidsfelden (a total of 11 km and 280 m of descent), is relatively straight and easy to follow.
