If you are hiking on the West Highland Way, this will mark your first bothy, the Scottish name for an unmanaged hut maintained for hikers and mountaineers.

The Rowchoisch Bothy has room for 6+ people in sleeping bags and houses an open fireplace for those cold winter nights. As these bothies are not managed it's very important you do your bit to keep it clean and tidy, and you're also asked not to cut live wood, but to collect dead wood to burn in the fireplace.

For those more artistically inclined, you may recognize this bothy from its appearance in the unsettling film Under the Skin with Scarlett Johansson.
