The lovingly restored Kettinge windmill was built in 1891 on the site of a previous mill and was in use until 1944. In 1998, the municipality of Nysted handed over the mill to the association Kettinge Møllelaug. At the time of the takeover, the mill was in a desolate condition and required thorough renovation. The members of the mill association operate and maintain the old mill. The plaque on the front of the mill and the date 9/4 1940 - 5/5 1945 are a memorial to the German occupation during World War II. kettingemoelle.com
