From the many new industrial settlements in the "industrial center" of Wallenbrück, one can see that first the shortening of the route to Spenge and then the closure in 1968 was a serious mistake. All employees have to come by car or unattractive bus connections! Instead, one could have connected directly to Bielefeld via Jöllenbeck and Babenhausen via Enger.
The old sleeper bearings can be clearly felt on the slope...

The branch of Martinsweg from Neuenkirchener Str. in Wallenbrück is open to traffic again, but is still under construction (rough gravel!). The old meter-gauge route is being widened, re-asphalted and illuminated.
