Before the Chancellor's Palace was used by the municipal savings bank, it served as the town hall from 1782 to 1900 and later as the district administration office. Built in 1730 by Andreas Gallasini, the architect of the Old University and Fasanerie Palace in Eichenzell, the building, with its modern additions, blends perfectly into the typical Fulda mix of traditional buildings and modern structures.
