Come in: For such a small village, the Protestant Church of St. Catherine is quite impressive, thanks to its historically favorable location, namely on the historic, frequently used Marian pilgrimage route. The church tower is adorned with a so-called "Welsche Haube" (Italian dome), visible from afar. As a "wayside church," it invites travelers to linger, a concept borrowed from Scandinavia, where wayside churches are called "Tiekirkko" (street churches). The three-aisled church was first documented in 1318, but this is likely a precursor building. The oldest part of St. Catherine is the choir, built around 1400.
