The new Grümketurm is accessible, even without a pay machine (06/22). If you are hiking or cycling in this part of the island, you should not miss climbing the tower, it is worth it. We had a wonderful all-round view. Cape Arkona and the Wittower ferry are prominent vantage points.

The view from the tower is spectacular. Today, with binoculars, I saw the Stralsund churches and shipyard, the Hiddensee lighthouse, and the chalk cliffs of the island of Møn. Interesting information panels explain the bird species and trees.
The tower was open again today and free to climb. During the season, you probably have to insert €2 at the turnstile. There's a small free parking lot nearby.
