Bei einem Braunlage-Aufenthalt gehört diese idyllische und abwechslungsreiche Wanderstrecke rüber nach St. Andreasberg einfach dazu. Auf wenigen Kilometern wird vieles geboten, was so typisch für den Harz ist. Dazu gibt es einiges an Höhenmetern rauf und runter, sowie tolle Ausblicke, Einkehrmöglichkeiten und zwei Stempelstellen HWN 123 (Rinderstall) + 148 (Silberteich). ÖPNV: Wer aus Gründen keine Lust mehr auf den Rückweg hat, kann aus St. Andreasberg einfach den Bus zurück nach Braunlage nehmen (mit Kurkarte gratis).

Mal jenseits von Forst- und Spazierwegen: Der Blick bleibt besser auf die Füße gerichtet, die durch Wurzelwerk, Gestein, umgestürzte Bäume, eiserne Treppen dauerhaft herausgefordert werden. Bei viel Sonnenschein, blauem Himmel und verhaltenen Temperaturen bieten sich viele grandiose Ausblicke und ein vielfältiges Terrain. Am heutigen 3. Oktober haben sich natürlich viele Menschen aufgemacht. Wir hatten auf etwas weniger Trubel gehofft, aber wie immer nehmen wir es wie es kommt. Außerdem bestärken die vielen freundlichen Begegnungen die gute Laune. Sparen würde ich mir persönlich die Landmannsklippe. Der Abstecher dorthin ist ein einziges Gerutsche und Geklettere über diverse umgestürzte Bäume und schmalste Pfade mit einem nicht im Verhältnis stehenden Ziel und Ausblick, da hatten wir schönere auf der heutigen Runde. Das findet auch das mir nachfolgende Paar. Entscheiden muss das jeder für sich selber. Geparkt: Am Bahnhof Schierke (6 Euro, ohne zeitliche Beschränkung)

Komfortable breite Wege führen aus Braunlage heraus weiträumig um den Ort herum auf den Wurmberg und auf der anderen Seite wieder herunter in den Ort zurück. Überwiegend geschottert, Kolonnenwege auf der ehemaligen innerdeutschen Grenze und Asphalt. Malerische Ausblicke, Idylle im Bode- und Bremketal. Ins Schwitzen kommen beim Anstieg zum Wurmberg und zünftig verköstigt auf der Wurmberg Alm. Insgesamt sehr lohnenswert.
