The eagle oak is not located directly on the side of the path. You have to go a little way into the forest to examine you. But with a tree so steeped in history, it's definitely worth it.

The "Adler Oak" (approx. 400 years old) is not that easy to find despite the sign, but it's worth it: it is still a "power tree". According to tradition, it got its name because in the 19th century, after a very stormy night with a terrible storm, the forester at the time found a "golden eagle" on it and then unfortunately shot it. He later had it stuffed and it is said to have been on display in the Giessen Museum until 1944, when the museum was destroyed in the war.
