The Theresienwiese in Munich is a fairground in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district. The Oktoberfest, considered the world's largest folk festival, has been held there annually since 1810. This 42-hectare open space is bordered by the Bavariaring and Theresienhöhe and bisected from west to east by Matthias-Pschorr-Straße, a pedestrian and bicycle street. The Bavaria statue marks the western end of Matthias-Pschorr-Straße, while Esperantoplatz lies at the eastern end.
