The Eifeldorf Olef is one of the "historical centers" in North Rhine-Westphalia. The sights of the place include the village square with its historic half-timbered houses, which arose after a fire in 1679, and the late Gothic parish church. The east side is dominated by the two-storey rectory from 1880 and the former school from 1840.
A very special attraction and a spectacle that is unique in Germany is the crossing of the historic railway bus in the village square: Every Sunday from around mid-May to the end of October, the Oleftalbahn travels across Dreiecksplatz at walking pace. A train attendant with a warning flag marches in front of the onlookers.

Very nice old town, the "crazy chair" is definitely a gimmick. For photos of it you have to be two, but three would be even better.

Unfortunately, since the flood disaster in 2021, the slow train known in the area as "Flitsch" no longer runs through the village.
