History:
1872: On June 27, the entire market area, along with the former church, was destroyed by fire.
1877: The current neo-Gothic church was built from rubble and ashes and consecrated on October 24 by the Bishop of Passau, Josef Franz Weckert, as the Church of the Assumption of Mary (patronage day on August 15). The plans were provided by the architect Tanera from Landshut.
