Delfzijl has a new city beach.
The beach was opened to the public over the weekend.
As part of this, a new pedestrian bridge and a beach boulevard were also opened.
The new beach, the boulevard and the pedestrian bridge, which creates a direct connection to the center of Delfzijl, are part of the “Marconi Buitendijks” project.
The city beach is located at the mouth of the Ems between the Eemshotel and the harbor area - and therefore only a few minutes' walk from the center of Delfzijl.
This makes the beach also interesting for day tourists.
Although the beach, boulevard and bridge are now freely accessible, the official inauguration is still pending.
