    Hiking

Seathwaite Farm is the access point for many of the high fells, including the Scafells and Great Gable. Parking at the farm car park rather than on the road means less congestion on the narrow lanes and it also supports the local hill farmer – it's only a fiver. There's also a small campsite here.

The starting point to access some the bigger mountains in Lakeland from Borrowdale. There is a toilet block, BT phone box and free roadside parking. When the free parking is full, the farm as a dedicated field for a parking fee which was £5 last time i accessed it in November 2021.

You can camp there, but not sure if tents are allowed, more self contained vehicles, but it might have changed post covid.
