Bike Touring Highlight
The almost four kilometers long promenade in the Baltic Sea is the longest promenade in Germany. It connects the east with the west of Kühlungsborn.
The beach promenade, which runs parallel to the beach, along the dunes, offers consistently a clear view of the beautiful Baltic Sea. Playgrounds, cozy cafes and other places invite you to stroll and linger.

My favorite tour from Kühlungsborn to Rerik and back. Unfortunately, the steep coast area between Kägsdorf and Rerik is also partially closed due to coastal demolitions. You can only get there by pushing the bike. But the numerous places with a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea make up for the exertion.
Even the view from the Bastdorf lighthouse on the way back quickly makes you forget the one or the other climb.

Kühlungsborn offers an approximately six kilometer long, very wide, sandy beach area. Beach and water are certified with the "Blue Flag" seal of approval. There are separate areas for nudists and two beaches for dogs and their owners.
Special sports beaches also ensure active relaxation by the sea. People with disabilities or limited mobility can access the stand via barrier-free access. The beach area is guarded by lifeguards during the season. Beach chairs can be borrowed on an hourly and daily basis.
The over three kilometers long beach promenade, which is one of the longest of its kind in Germany, is also very inviting.

Great bike path past the many hotels. The restaurants invite you to linger and there is always something going on. Live music in the spa gardens in summer. On the Ferris wheel in the evening at sunset, a dream with a view of the sea.
You pass the pretty town hall between east and west. Beautiful and almost inconspicuous between the many hotels.
