On the lawn next to Nyborg Library, with Nyborg Castle in the background, stands a bronze sculpture of a young, slender woman.

She is naked, her gaze slightly downward, and she cautiously takes a step

forward. This pose, perhaps before or after bathing, is a motif that has been popular throughout art history.

In her hands, she holds a cloth, which she holds behind her back.

She is about to drop it or just pull it up.

The sculpture is titled "Innocentia," which means innocence.

She is portrayed in the transition phase between childhood and adulthood. She still displays the innocent physicality found in childhood, but at the same time, she is close to the modesty and inhibitions of adulthood.

This sculpture is a bronze cast from 1990

of a plaster figure from around 1918, now part of the Aarsleff Collection.
