Eppstein Castle is a Gothic castle of the Eppstein family with stepped gables. Rebuilt in 1385 after a feud in 1382, it burned down completely at the end of the 19th century. Its interior was later rebuilt to house the district court.

The Gothic castle belonged to the "Lords of Eppstein." After it was destroyed by the Rhenish League of Cities in 1382, it was rebuilt by the Landgraves of Hesse. It burned down completely at the end of the 19th century. The castle pond surrounding the castle was filled in around 1900. The building was used for many years as a district court. Today it is privately owned.
