This memorial stone, featuring a portrait relief, is dedicated to Anton Günther. Born on June 5, 1876, in Gottesgab, the folk poet and dialect song composer committed suicide on April 29, 1937, at the age of not even 61. He suffered from severe depression. After Günther's suicide, the Böhmisch Reizenhain Tourist Association decided in 1938 to add an Anton Günther memorial to the popular folk poet to the recently completed "Am Bucheneck" seating area.

The seating group "Am Bucheneck" was set up with seats and stone steles in the spring of 1937 on the initiative of the local poet Erwin Schwarz. After Günther's suicide, the Tourist Office in Reizenhain decided to extend the recently completed square to the Anton Günther Monument. After the expulsion of the German-Bohemian population, the steles were overturned and the place fell into disrepair. On June 7, 2014, the square, which had been restored by volunteers, was inaugurated with a memorial stone.
Highly recommended and very close to the forgotten village of Bohemian Reizenhain…
