The Erpe is called something different over its 32 kilometers: Stienitzfließ from the source to Werneuchen, Langes Elsenfließ to Altlandsberg and then Neuhagener Mühlenfließ to the city limits of Berlin. The Erpe is protected and revitalized in many places to improve the living conditions for some typical species, such as amphibians, crayfish, stonefly larvae and large mussels.
