From April to October, the Hazelmausbaude is open to hikers for overnight stays. The hut is not managed, but there is a lounge with a fireplace and berths for your sleeping bag. Outside the cabin you will find firewood and a composting toilet. Unfortunately, there is no drinking water, you have to bring enough with you. If you have a filter with you, you can take water from the Krippenbach if it is on your planned route.

Before you hike here, get trekking tickets with which you “pay” for your overnight stay. You need a ticket worth 10 euros per person and night. You can get them in Bad Schandau at the train station or at Globetrotter in Dresden.
