The Great Zschirnstein is the highest mountain in the German Elbe Sandstone Mountains. From its plateau with its pretty stone column, you have a great view of Bohemian Switzerland. In good weather, you can even see the Giant Mountains and the Eastern Ore Mountains in the distance.

This is the first mountain you reach on the Forststeig coming from Schöna. Very important: you have to make a short detour to the left to get to the viewpoint, otherwise the Forststeig will simply lead you past.
