The old swimming pool in Neuhaus-Schierschnitz belonged to a children's health clinic that opened in the 1920s. The site included a girls' house, a boys' house with a lounge and terrace, an infirmary, and other outbuildings. The facility remained in operation until the mid-1950s and later served as a holiday camp for children from Neuhaus-Schierschnitz.From 1956 to 1978, the East German border troops used the buildings. Because a new border company was being built below the site, the buildings were demolished in 1981.The old swimming pool remained standing. Now, nature is gradually reclaiming the pool and the staircases.

The pool from the old children's spa, it's almost a little creepy. An information board again provides very nice information about the story. Not to be missed further down is a small path on the right to an old disused well

The former children's spa, close to the former inner-German border, was in operation until the 1950s.
