The Bruulbos is a unique wet valley forest and a slope forest with a great diversity of species. The stream valley has been wooded over the centuries by ash and elm, on the 20 meter higher plateau there are mainly oaks and poplars. There is a very rich vegetation in the herb layer and about 100 species of mushrooms. The 25 ha forest is located between the village of Lovenjoel, the Tiensesteenweg and the railway line 36 (Brussels-Liège).
