Protestant Church Nanzenbach

Welcome to Nanzenbach! Until the end of 2019, the parish of Nanzenbach is connected with the parish of Eibach. On January 1, 2020, Nanzenbach and Niederscheld will be combined in a parish. The history of the community goes back a long way. Nanzenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1255.There was probably a chapel here as early as the 15th century. Old sources say that in the Duchy of Nassau at that time, weekly fairs were organized from Dillenburg in Nanzenbach.In the years 1577-1582 the duchy switched to the Reformed Confession. In 1817 the United Confession was introduced for Dillenburg. In 1818 Nanzenbach belonged to the parish office of Frohnhausen.In 1956, Nanzenbach became an independent parish, which was connected to Wissenbach by the parish. Pastor Gottfried Strack (1956-1965) was the first parish priest to live in Nanzenbach. During his tenure, the vicarage (1959) and the church (1962-1964) were rebuilt. With the restructuring of the Deanery of Dillenburg in 1967, the parishes of Nanzenbach and Eibach were merged.
