Up here there are beautiful meadows and a wonderful view to the Schelderwald. He is one with the Angelburg to 609.4 m above sea level. NHN [1] high, almost continuously wooded western foothills of the Gladenbacher mountain country in the nature park Lahn-Dill-Bergland.
The Angelburg, bordering on the extreme east and attributed only in a broader sense, is part of a formerly much higher single massif, which was demolished in the course of the history of the earth up to today's height. As Eisenkiesel hardeners, the Wilhelmsteins, a rock group up to 15 m high near the Angelburg, resisted the erosion. The Schelder forest was inhabited since the Celtic era, as excavations in the 1930s show. The most spectacular find is the Keltenstein, whose original is now in the museum in Darmstadt. Especially on the southeast side of the Angelburg, near the spring meadows of the Siegbach, are still in the forest still heavily sanded traces of former human activities can be seen.
