Mountain biking

The former Panzerwaschanlage belonged to the former Kaserne Altenrath. In September 2011, the Belgian forces were withdrawn from the then opposite Camp Major Legrand. Since then, the camp has been completely renatured.
On maneuvers in the Wahner Heide, the tanks were heavily polluted and were cleaned here like on a kind of vibrating plate of coarse mud. It is interesting that in the catch basin next to it small biotopes have formed. Dragonflies, snails, grass snakes, frogs, etc. have found a hayfoot here. In 2012 a nest box for birds and bats was erected next to this relic.
