Location: Pirna, Saxon Switzerland-East Ore Mountains, Saxony, Germany
The origin of the village, first mentioned in 1378 as Zcutschendorf (according to other sources Zeutschendorf), probably goes back to a castle that had existed here since the 11th century. 1403 Zuschendorf is mentioned as Vorwerk (manor).
In 1894, Zuschendorf was connected to the Zehista station on the Pirna–Großcotta railway line (passenger traffic stopped in 1957 and freight traffic in 1963, finally shut down in 1999).
The growth of Pirna and Zuschendorf finally led to the incorporation of the former estate village into Pirna on September 1, 1923. At that time, Zuschendorf had about 370 inhabitants. It is interesting to note that Zehista, located between Pirna and Zuschendorf, only became part of Pirna seven years later. [Source: Wikipedia]
