the 800 meter long avenue of chestnut trees and all with red flowers
May 10, 2022
Our favorite avenue is in Bad Salzelmen, a district in the south of the city of Schönebeck (Elbe) / Saxony-Anhalt.
The avenue was planted about 100 years ago with trees of the red flowering horse chestnut Aesculus x carnea.
The trees stand on both sides of the approximately 400 m long pedestrian path from the so-called fir forest to the Bierer Berg hill.
For decades, the chestnut trail has not only been very popular with the people of Schönebeck.
Many families combine their walk or bike ride with a visit to the popular local zoo on the Bierer Berg.(Source: alleen-fan.de)
