The Everyday People, created by Christel Lechner and her daughter Laura Lechner, are a fascinating collection of life-sized concrete sculptures depicting everyday scenes in public spaces. These works of art can be found in various locations in Germany and beyond, where they surprise passers-by in their everyday lives and invite them to pause.

Laura Lechner, who works with her mother in the Lechnerhof studio in Witten, brings her own artistic visions to the design of the sculptures. The studio, surrounded by picturesque landscapes, serves as a creative center where all work steps take place, from the first sketches to the finished sculpture. The figures created by the Lechners are characterized by a remarkable liveliness that results from the combination of rough and fine work, lightness and weight. The sculptures weigh between 80 and 150 kg and are also weatherproof thanks to their mineral colors.

The everyday people have adorned numerous cities in recent years and are popular not only for their aesthetic quality, but also for the emotional connection they build with viewers. Each figure tells its own little story, which often only becomes apparent at second glance, but always touches and inspires thought. Through these works of art, public space becomes a place of reflection and human interaction.
