St. Anna Church Brederis

St. Anna Church in Brederis (Rankweil)

In the middle of the countryside, a little way away from Brederis, there is a chapel dedicated to St. Anna. This is a former branch church. According to legend, it was built on the spot where St. Eusebius was martyred in the 9th century. At first, only a shrine was said to have commemorated the saint, but around 1500 the current St. Anna Chapel was built here. Over the years, it has undergone numerous extensions and renovations. However, it has retained its defensive, medieval character. What particularly catches your eye is the massive tower with its towering gable roof, which can be seen from afar.
